The Biggest UK Pro Surf Tour event announced
Cirrion Group announce the launch of the 360 Extreme Sports Festival, which will take place in Scarborough 17-19th September 2010. The Festival is part of a three year plan with Scarborough Borough Council to promote the area as the extreme sports destination on the east coast.
The 360 Extreme Sports Festival Concert will be held in the recently opened Welcome to Yorkshire Open Air Theatre. The exciting line up is yet to be announced though Madness are confirmed as headliner with the Stereo MCs already on the bill. | | |
The 360 Extreme Sports Festival has been added to the Official Pro Surf Tour and will host a 3 star event attracting international surfers and media to Scarborough. Professionals will be in attendance to help guests of all ages and abilities try their hand at extreme sports like surfing, skating, sailing and BMX riding. Two other quirky elements to the weekend are the extreme crazy golf, and extreme Ironing competition, which are both open to all In addition, The 360 Extreme Sports Festival will host a "2 day beach clean" with goodie bags for those returning rubbish to the recycle point. The Festival is supporting the environmental campaign group Surfers Against Sewage (SAS), which has campaigned for over 20 years for cleaner water & beaches. SAS will be promoting their ongoing campaigns at the events and making visitors aware of the responsibility they have to keep beaches clean. This weekend will also play host to Oliver's Mount 60th birthday, the only remaining road racing circuit in England, if you've never watched the close-up, action-packed racing through the beautiful wooded parkland at Oliver's Mount, give it a try, There's no greater thrill for a race fan than to see race bikes brushing the banking only yards away from where you stand - you can leave the binoculars at home!
