The next leg of the UK Pro Surf Tour is set to be the North East Open being held on the weekend of the 23rd to 24th October at Longsand Beach, Tynemouth. This will be the fifth leg of the UK Pro Surf Tour 2010.

The event supported by North Tynemouth Council, will be giving pro-surfers the chance to compete at one of the best venues on the North East coastline.

Surfing interests include current tour leader and last years event champion Russell Winter from Newquay. Also South African Reubin Pearce who has won the tour twice, most recently in 2008. In addition taking part will be past North East Champion and current British Champion Johnny Fryer.

Dave Reed, Director UK Pro Surf Tour further explains: “It is great to be coming back to Tynemouth one of my favourite locations on the tour. This year we will also include an event on the Groundswell Pro Junior Tour. Pro Junior contests help the development in competitive surfing in the UK.”

On board again we have Relentless who will be providing us not only with endless supplies of energy drink but also with the £250 money manoeuvre prize. King of Watersports.com will be providing Sector 9 Skateboards for the highest scoring wave in the Pro Junior and Open divisions.
