The Gul Night Surf - Events Schedule

12th – 14th June 2009


The Gul Night Surf is less than a week away and what a weekend it is going to be.
The forecast is looking good with southerly
Gul Night Surf
winds and 3-4ft waves and some nice Weather breaks across the weekend.

The Gul event starts on Friday the 12th of June at 1.00pm with check in for the Open, Women’s and Longboard events. Volleyball practice will start at 6:00 and is open to anybody. The lights will be turned on at dusk, with surfing finishing at 11:30. The excitement continues at the after party at the Beach Night Club.

The Saturday Competition will also start at 1:00. There will be events throughout the day including the volleyball competition. The Final of the Open, Women’s and Longboard competition will be presented after 10:00pm, which will be concluded by a spectacular firework display, then onto the Beach Night Club for the final after party.

On Sunday we conclude the Gul night surf with the juniors who check in at 8:00am. Again there will be events through the day, and the juniors will finish with the final presentation just after 5:00pm.

We have secured some excellent musical talent to keep you entertained for the weekend starting after 7:00pm on the Friday and Saturday night in the new Fistral beach bar, with local band Chunky Custard, local solo artist Dean O’Donald and Andy Walker coming all the way from Brighton.

Other activity’s taking place including board and wetsuit testing,
Tattoo artist display, body artist, and Gul product giveaways. Gul clothing and Technical product will be available to buy all weekend from Ann’s Cottage.

In addition to the above, Relentless will be sponsoring the Money Move, judges will be looking for the best floater throughout the first two days of the event. Kingofwatersports.com will again be giving away top of the range skateboards to the highest scoring waves coming from both male and female surfers.
