The awards have been gaining momentum with each year that passes and last years event was bigger and better than ever with 250 people attending the ticketed prize giving supported by our media partners: Carve, Surfgirl, Wavelength, A1, Surfer’s Village and Pitpilot along with sponsorship from many of the big industry brands from the likes of Animal to Gul to name but a few. The crowd watched as Newquay’s Alan stokes and Swansea’s Gwen Spurlock were crowned UK Pro Surf Tour Champions alongside others who received trophies and prizes marking their achievements in 2009 in a wide range of categories from Carve Best Aerialist, Pitpilot Best Underdog Award to the King of Watersports King of the Wave Award.

Now in its eighth year, and on November 14th at Newquay’s Fistral Blu Bar and Restaurant, the 2010 Surf Awards promises to be the biggest and best yet.  The night itself is a real celebration of UK Surfing: the industry professionals, the surfers, the biggest maneuvers, the best shots, as well as the UK pro tour.  These awards are all about recognising the breadth of surfing talent within the UK and continuing to raise the profile of UK surfing as it develops.
