Bridgend has scooped the chance to host the UK Pro Surfing Championships on October 8-9th
The Surf Championships will form part of the The Porthcawl Splash UP Festival that will bring an adrenalin packed weekend of extreme sports to Rest Bay and “street dancing” to Porthcawl high street.
The event will see the UK’s top surfers competing for the UK title and in addition some of the UK's top skateboard and BMX professionals will be performing at our purpose built skate park located at Rest Bay car park The town centre at Porthcawl will come alive on Sat 8th October with a series of Street Dance performances with some of the best UK street dance acts performing throughout the day.
Over 100 of the UK’s best surfers will descend on Rest Bay for the action-packed weekend, to compete for the UK Professional Surfing title.
The event, which will showcase Rest Bay beach as one of the best surfing locations in the UK is set to take Porthcawl by storm on October 8 and 9th.
In addition our onsite skate park will run a series of daily workshops hosted by a number professional skateboard and BMX riders. This will offer a series of free coaching workshops to any young people that show up on the day and equipment will be provided.

Rest Bay Wave Information The beach points out straight into the Bristol Channel and on its day produces epic walling lefts and rights along the length of this golden beach, creating perfect conditions in a safe environment for surfers of any ability.
It is really well accessed with huge car parking capacity and with good facilities directly above the beach.
